The Breath EasyTM Hygienic Filter Bag System traps dirt and allergens when changing the bag so no dirt is released. When pulling the bag out to change it automatically seals itself for a clean and simple job. The Real TimeTM Tool System with Tag-Along TM Grip and 12 Stretch Hose allows you to clean hard to reach areas easily. The Cord Rewind quickly retracts the 28 cord for easy storage. The Pet Hair Cleaning Tool has powerful suction and rotating brushes to easily lift pet hair off stairs and upholstery. The Embedded DirtFINDERTM system tells you when the vacuum has picked up all the dirt it can. Carpet is clean when light turns green. The Hoover windtunnel has some attributes. I bought this model primarily for the bags. I am not a fan of the bagless system. There are a few pieces to put together from the box. The instructions were easy to follow. From past reviews I did not bother using the cord handle, I could see how the piece would easily break off. The "Dirt Finder" lights drove me a little crazy in the beginning. The green and red lights were easily ignored after a few uses. The machine is heavy and the diameter of the body of the vacuum is too wide to get under beds and coffee tables. The pet/stair attachment I don't care for. I lift the vacuum when I do the stairs, I have 13 steps. The hose is cumbersome to use because of the way it fits on the back of the unit. I tend to pull and reposition the hose til I get the angle I need.
Overall, the vacuum has good suction and I don't have issues with changing the bag or the cost. I would not recommend this unit to my mother-in-law because she would not be able to tolerate the weight and the heaviness of the machine to push back and forth. I have had the electrolux cannister for the last 15 years but it gets very expensive to repair.

After only a few months of owning the Hoover Savvy 7400, the switch became faulty. It would turn off during use and only stay on if I held the handle at a particular angle while vacuuming (not an easy task). It has now reached the point were it will not stay on at all during use. I plan on replacing the switch, but unfortunately it requires soldering. I see that I am not the only one who has had this problem. I would not recommend this product.

I bought a Hoover Self-Propelled WindTunnel Bagless with Powered Hand Tool (Model U6637-960) in July 2007. I was reasonably happy with it until the motor burned out last week - just 4 months past the warranty date. I have a two-bedroom apartment; this Hoover received very moderate use. Of course I checked for problems with the roller, belts, and visible clogs. The dirt cup had been recently emptied. The next step would have been to take it to a dealer for repair.
I'm finished with Hoovers. I now have a Bissell Momentum Bagless (Model 82G7-1) that I quite like, so far. It is much lighter weight than the Hoover, and easier to maneuver. One of the features I liked about the Hoover was the powered hand tool attachment. The Bissell has the same type of attachment (TurboBrush). Suction through both the base the attachment hose is very good - better than the Hoover. The dirt cup is separate from the filter (unlike the Hoover) and easier to remove and empty. On the down side, the Bissell's dirt cup is smaller and has to be emptied frequently. I paid [...] for the Hoover (Costco, with coupon). I paid [...] for the Bissell (Kohl's, on sale with coupon).

The on-off switch did not work properly because its internal workings are plastic and do not fit perfectly. If the handle is not tightly connected to the body, the switch does not work. I took this to a dealer repair shop where it would work there but as soon as I brought it home it stopped after a few times. The propeller switch broke. Finally the the beater brush switch stopped working. The reliability and workmanship is terrible. I have had it for about a year and got it as a gift.
